As Mechanical Engineer at Greenfield Milling, I managed $3M in packaging and mixing system capital projects across three facilities, carrying each from concept through commissioning. Due to industry privacy concerns, images of these projects and some exact details cannot be provided.
The centerpiece was a $700K split-location mixing plant sized to produce up to 3 million lbs of product per month — which meant designing not just the mixing equipment itself, but the material handling and process controls needed to keep it fed and running at that scale. On the packaging side adjacent to the mix plant, I implemented automated VFFS (vertical form-fill-seal) packaging capable of 7,000+ lbs/hr, tuned to balance labor efficiency against equipment reliability.
None of that happens in isolation — I worked across production, quality, and maintenance teams throughout to keep the projects moving and to streamline day-to-day operations once equipment was live, boosting uptime across the board.
